Mohr Construction began in 1966 when president Steve Mohr started painting houses. In 1972, Steve moved into new home construction by building his first two homes. By 1975 Mohr Construction was building five to ten homes per year. In 1976 Steve joined the Norman, Oklahoma state and national chapters of the Association of Home Builders. He became a HOW approved builder in 1977.
By 1987, Mohr Construction shifted focus from new home construction to residential and light commercial remodeling. In 2000, Steve’s son Michael joined the company and became vice president, currently serving as project manager. In 2003 Mohr began building new homes, spec as well as custom.
Mohr Construction has been awarded “Builder of the Year” four times and “Remodeler of the Year” once. Steve has been president of the Norman Home Builders Association four times. He has also served as president of the Oklahoma State Home Builders Association. Currently, Steve is a member of the Builders Association of South Central Oklahoma board of directors.
